MECHANICAL BREACHING – Gary Robbins, BLACKHAWK! Products Group The breacher, like all other specialty team members, must be given the training that ensures he is proficient and successful during actual operations. The primary objective of this program is to provide students with a working knowledge of manual breaching tools and techniques. This course will address manual breaching, power assisted and vehicle assisted tools. Topics that will be covered include different types and selection of entry tools; types of doors and windows and their construction; strike points and tools for various types of doors; break and rake techniques for various window types; gathering of breaching intelligence; identification of various types of locks and barricades; and selection of primary and secondary entry points. Tactical Sports Medicine (TSM) will address human performance topics, such as Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition, so that individuals can properly design, implement, and understand fitness training and metabolic conditioning as it relates to job performance. This is similar to the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s program on Tactical Strength and Conditioning, which is endorsed by NTOA. This presentation will address common myths, as well as the physical components of SWAT “try-outs” and team standards. TSM will also address the prevention and self-treatment of “athletic injuries,” such as sprains, strains, dehydration and muscle cramping. This is a MUST for all Round-Up Competitors.

ADVANCED ARMORED VEHICLE TACTICS – Tim Stanley / James Parker, Orlando Police Department This course will encompass all aspects of deployment utilizing an Armored Vehicle, to include loading and unloading tactics, hands on officer rescues, immediate action drills, live fire and firearms training within the vehicle and outside the vehicle. Student Requirements: Students are expected to bring all weapons systems issued to them by their agency with sufficient ammunition to conduct firearms training (full kit – handguns (100 rounds) -long guns (200 rounds), eye protection and ear protection.

ADVANCED TACTICAL CARBINE – Bret Pagnucco, Edmonton Police Service (Canada) / N.T.O.A. This intense ½ day program is centered on preparation for real world engagements on the two way range. Students and their equipment will be tested mentally and physically through a series of dynamic stress drills requiring speed and accuracy. This program is not for the feint of heart and attendees must be operationally proficient with the carbine and have utilized the weapon platform as a part of their normal duties. Student Requirements: Duty gear including Rifle, Pistol, ear and eye protection, (300) rounds of Rifle ammunition, (100) rounds of Pistol ammunition and gas mask.

Training Company This intuitive shooting program is designed to help the student become a more efficient shooter in dynamic critical incidents. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of CFS, including several drills that can be used on any square range to simulate a 360 degree environment. This extended introductory session will also include some shooting from unorthodox positions and one handed weapons manipulation. With the use of FBI protocol and hands on training, we will show the effectiveness and misconceptions of chosen duty rounds. The course will cover all patrol rifle and police marksman rounds which will help officers make a factual choice on the need of the department. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ENTIRE BLOCK OF INSTRUCTION IN ORDER TO MEET THE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH BY THE SRI COMMITTEE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A TIME PENALTY FOR YOUR TEAM. ONLY THOSE PRE-REGISTERED FOR THIS COURSE WILL BE ALLOWED TO THE OFF-SITE LOCATION – NO WALK INS ACCEPTED! This training will teach tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP’s) to tactical teams searching for an armed suspect(s) in a wooded terrain environment. Training topics include notable manhunts, situations requiring a wooded terrain operation, camouflage, weapon/equipment considerations, basic hand and arm signals, individual/team movement formations, immediate action drills and command and control issues. A live-fire exercise will be conducted at the end of this course. The student will be instructed on the ballistic stopping abilities of hand held ballistic shields and will learn the required firearms and tactical skills to safely use the shield in tactical operations and in officer rescues. Student Requirements: Full tactical equipment, eye and ear protection, ballistic shield (if available), handgun with (3) magazines and student must provide (300) rounds of pistol ammunition.

TACTICAL SHOTGUN – Captain O. Frank Repass, Kennedy Space Center This course will be conducted for the SWAT/Tactical Officer and will cover the use of a shotgun as a primary offensive/defensive weapon in a tactical operation. This course will cover weapon manipulations, safety, operational skills, tactical use, weapon entry techniques and ammo selection drills. At the conclusion of this course, the SWAT Officer will demonstrate the ability to safely operate this weapon in a hostile environment. Student Requirements: Hat, ear and wrap around eye protection, vest and 12 gauge shotgun with a tactical sling. Student must provide (125) rounds of #8 birdshot ammunition.
